Donald Trump's lawyer, Todd Blanche, shared insights with CNN's Kaitlan Collins on Thursday about why the former president chose not to testify in his trial. According to Blanche, Trump was eager to tell his story but ultimately followed his legal team's advice.
"He wanted to get his story out," Blanche said. "However, the judge's decisions about what the prosecutors could ask him complicated matters. These questions were difficult to answer due to ongoing appeals. Ultimately, Trump relied on our counsel and made a decision he believed was right, which I fully agreed with."

McConnell Predicts Trump's Conviction Will Be Overturned
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell responded to Trump's guilty verdict late Thursday night, expressing his expectation that the conviction will be overturned on appeal. Despite a strained relationship with Trump, McConnell endorsed the former president in March after Trump’s strong performance in races nationwide.
